余火根,男,中国地质大学(武汉)材料与化学学院教授、博士生导师、国务院政府特殊津贴专家、“国家百千万人才工程”入选者,获“有突出贡献中青年专家”、“教育部新世纪优秀人才”、“武汉市优秀青年科技工作者”等称号。主要从事光催化环境净化、光催化分解水制氢等研究工作。获国家自然科学二等奖1项(排名第二)、湖北省自然科学一等奖1项(排名第二)和湖北省技术发明二等奖1项(排名第二);2014-2023年连续十年入选爱思唯尔“中国高被引学者(Most Cited Chinese Researchers)”榜单;在国际著名刊物Nature Communication、Angewandte Chemie International Edition、Advanced Materials等发表200余篇SCI研究论文,个人引文指数H为71;主持国家自然科学基金区域创新发展联合基金重点项目、国家自然科学基金面上项目、湖北省自然科学基金创新群体项目等;担任《Chinese Journal of Catalysis》和《Acta Physico-Chimica Sinica》编委。
