目前研究方向为前寒武纪地球生物学及天体生物学。通过解读地球早期环境变化及生命演化的岩石、矿物、化学及化石记录,探讨前寒武纪大气-海洋氧化进程与生物地球化学循环以及早期动物演化等重大地质事件之间的联系,通过地球生命活动标志为火星等地外天体生命探测提供指导。
