Zhenbing She is a professor in geobiology at China University of Geosciences, Wuhan. He is interested in the co-evolution of life and environment in the Precambrian. He and his group use a suite of micro-analytical techniques, including optical microscopy, micro-Raman spectroscopy, SEM, FIB-TEM, ToF-SIMS and NanoSIMS to study Precambrian phosphorites and carbonates. By doing this, they are able to trace the fossil record of early animals, to understand the genesis of the unprecedented phosphorite deposits, and to decipher the interplay between atmospheric oxygenation, global carbon and phosphorus cycling and early life evolution.
