颜佳新，教授，博士生导师。1983年在武汉地质学院获理学学士学位，1989年和1996年在中国地质大学获理学硕士和博士学位。分别在澳大利亚卧龙岗大学(University of Wollongong)（1989-10~1990-09）、德国哥廷根大学(Universitӓt Göttingen)(2002.09 ~ 2003.04)、德国波鸿大学(Universitӓt Bochum) (2003.05~2003.08)、德国埃尔兰根-纽伦堡大学(Universitӓt Erlangen - Nürnberg) (2011.05~2011.10)学习和合作研究。现任国际沉积学会《The Depositional Records》编委(2018.10-)、中国地质学会-沉积地质专业委员会和中国矿物岩石地球化学学会-沉积学专业委员会第十届委员会委员(2017.09-)、《古地理学报》编委(第5届, 2018-)；曾任国际沉积学会(IAS)理事(2011-2014)、《古地理学报》编委 (第4届，2014-17)、《Journal of Palaeogeography》编委(2015-2017)
