主要研究方向为鸟类生态学、鸟类鸣声行为生态学。曾主持国家自然科学基金青年基金-中国大陆地区白头鹎两个亚种的鸣声比较研究及其回放实验（31000964）、生态环境部生物多样性保护专项2016~2019年“生物多样性示范观测（湖北通城县等2个观测样区）”、湖北省对外科技合作专项“鸟类监测在神农架大九湖湿地重金属（以汞为例）污染生态效应及风险评价中的应用”（2016AHB013）等项目。
