教授、博士生导师、材料科学与工程系系主任。
主要从事稀土光电功能材料、环境催化材料以及矿物材料深加工等方面的研究工作。主持 2 项国家自然科学基金面上项目,发表SCI索引论文 110 余篇,授权国家发明专利 4 项,获得湖北省技术发明奖二等奖 1 项。
