郭建秋，男，出生于1963年6月，四川省仁寿县人，博士，高级工程师。
1977年12月考入昆明地质学校地质调查及找矿专业，1989年6月获成都地质学院地质矿产调查工学学士学位，1999年6月、2006年6月分别获得中国地质大学（武汉）地质学理学硕士学位和理学博士学位。
1980年12月—2004年6月在四川省地质矿产局攀西地质大队及区域地质调查队从事地质调查及矿产勘查工作；2004年7月—今在中国地质大学（武汉）计算机学院从事地质学方面的教学和科研工作。
2011年11月任中央地质勘查基金专家库专家，2012年10月任中国地质调查局地质调查技术专家。
