Personal Profile

    Weihua Cao received his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in engineering from Central South University, Changsha, China, in 1994, 1997, and 2007, respectively. From 1997 to 2014, he was a Faculty Member of the School of Information Science and Engineering, Central South University, and was promoted to Professor in 2009. From 2007 to 2008, he was a Visiting Scholar with the Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Alberta, Edmonton, AB, Canada. In 2014, he moved to the China University of Geosciences, Wuhan, China, where he is currently a Professor with the School of Automation. His research interests include intelligent control and process control.

     In the past 15 years, he has published 4 monographs and 103 SCI-indexed papers, more than 30 papers in renowned international journals, such as IEEE TIE, IEEE TCST, and Control Engineering Practice. He is currently serving as a reviewer for several reputed international Journals, such as IEEE Transactions on Cybernetics, IEEE TII, IEEE TIE, and Engineering Applications of Artificial Intelligence. He is the proprietor of 105 patents and 21 software copyrights, and has served as a principal investigator on more than 20 research projects.
