Wei Longsheng, born in Anqing, Anhui Province, is an associate professor and doctoral supervisor at the School of Artificial Intelligence and Automation, China University of Geosciences (Wuhan). He graduated from Anhui University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Information and Computing Science in July 2005, from Huazhong University of Science and Technology with a Master of Science degree in Probability and Mathematical Statistics in July 2007, and from Huazhong University of Science and Technology with a Doctor of Engineering degree in Control Science and Engineering in July 2011. From October 2016 to November 2017, he was a visiting scholar at Harvard University in the United States sponsored by the Chinese government. His research interests include visual attention, image processing, remote sensing image interpretation, intelligent video surveillance, and object detection, tracking, and recognition.
More than 40 relevant papers have been published, including 25 high-level papers; 15 national invention patents have been granted, of which 6 have been transformed into achievements; 16 software copyrights have been registered; 2 academic monographs and 2 textbooks have been published; and the team has led projects such as the National Defense Science and Technology Basic Strengthening Program, the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) projects, the Joint Fund Project of Equipment Pre-research and Aerospace Science and Industry, the State Key Laboratory Fund projects, and multiple enterprise horizontal projects. The team has also participated in multiple national-level projects such as key projects of the NSFC and national key research and development projects. Additionally, they have been involved in pre-research projects of the 25th and 35th institutes of China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation, as well as the 14th, 29th, and 38th institutes of China Electronics Technology Group Corporation.
