Associate Professor
School of Earth Resources, China University of Geosciences (Wuhan)
Shihao Hao is a associate professor at the School of Earth Resources, China University of Geosciences (Wuhan). His research focuses on passive continental margin rifting, deep crustal structure and deformation, and tectono-magmatic coupling, with particular interests in the structural architecture, polyphase magmatism, rift segmentation, and crustal heterogeneity of the northern South China Sea margin. He has revealed the control of strike-slip faults on margin segmentation. He has published multiple first-author papers in journals including GSA Bulletin, JGR-Solid Earth, Tectonics, and Basin Research. He leads projects funded by the NSFC Youth Program, China Postdoctoral Science Foundation, Hubei Provincial Natural Science Foundation, and Hubei Provincial Postdoctoral Innovation Talent Program. He serves as a reviewer for JGR-Solid Earth, Journal of the Geological Society, Marine and Petroleum Geology, and Tectonophysics. He maintains long-term research collaborations with CNOOC Shenzhen Branch, CNOOC Research Institute, University of Leeds (UK), Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), and the Geological Survey of Norway (NGU). He welcomes academic exchanges and is enthusiastic about recruiting graduate students.
