1、Personal Resume
Chen Yu, male, from Tianmen Ctiy, Hubei Province, is a member of the Communist Party of China with a doctoral degree in engineering, associate professor, and master's degree supervisor. In 2001, he received a bachelor's degree in engineering from School of Resources and Civil Engineering in Northeastern University in the field of surveying engineering; in 2004, he received a master's degree from University of Geosciences (Wuhan) in photogrammetry and remote sensing, focusing on integrated "3S" technology and its applications; in 2007, he received a doctoral degree from China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) in cartography and geographic information engineering, focusing on network GIS, sensing of land resources, and large spatial databases. He has hosted or participated in more than 20 research projects, including the Central University Research Special Fund, Natural Science Foundation projects, several provincial and ministerial level geological survey cooperation projects in complex areas, the national 863 high-tech project, the national major and technology project - high-resolution earth observation system, and several precision engineering measurement projects. He has published more than 20 papers as the first author or corresponding author in domestic and international journals such as SENSORS, IEEE ACCESS, Advances in Space Research, Surveying Science, and Remote Sensing Information, and has obtained3 national invention patents. His main research fields include the application of "3S" technology in engineering surveying, the correlation between GPS zenith tropospheric delay precipitable water, GPS water vapor inversion and three-dimensional tomography, spatial databases, precision engineering survey data processing, and remote sensing applications in land resources and geience, such as remote sensing geological survey and remote sensing monitoring. From May 2011 to April 2012, he worked on loan the National Remote Sensing Center of the Ministry of Science and Technology; with full funding from the China Scholarship Council, he was a visiting scholar at the Department of Engineering and Geosciences at Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands in 2017. In 2016, he received the Outstanding Instructor Award; he has guided students to win multiple national and provincial awards in the National Surveying Skills Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition.

3、Research Directions
(1) Study on the impact of precise single-point positioning of GNSS, precise ephemeris, and clock errors on the accuracy of zenith tropospheric delay;
(2)Research on ground-based GPS water vapor inversion, the correlation between GPS zenith tropospheric delay and precipitable water and three-dimensional tomography;
(3)Research on the Methods of high- GNSS data processing by using GAMIT, Bernese, RTKLib, and PRIDE PPP softwares;
(4)Research on Data processing for precise engineering surveying; denoising of settlement monitoring data, and settlement prediction;
(5)Application research in remote sensing of land and resources, remote sensing geological survey and monitoring, storage management of large spatial databases, and data publishing, digital mapping, and cartography using UAV surveying, etc.
4、Pesearch Grants Projects
(1) As a key member of the backbone, undertake several national projects : ① 1 sub-project of the National 863 Program② 1 major national science and technology project; ③ 3 projects from other ministries and commissions of the state; ④ 4 provincial and ministerial-level remote geological survey and geological investigation projects (with a total fund of 10.13 million yuan);
(2) Hosted 1 project of the Central's Outstanding Youth Fund;
(3) Host several horizontal scientific research projects related to railway, highway, and large monitoring and surveying;
(4) Hosted 2 teaching research projects, the construction project of the Engineering Surveying Network Live Course, 40,000 yuan (Teaching Word 201 (30)).

7、Graduate Student Recruitment
Every year, I recruit 1-2 master's students (both academic and professional master's are) in the fields of 081600|Surveying and Mapping Science and Technology; 085700|Resources and Environment Remote Sensing. Outstanding undergraduate students are welcome to join our group for research training. As of 2024, over 20 graduate students have graduated from our group. After graduation, they work in large survey and design institutes such as Tiesi Institute and Tieyi Institute, provincial surveying and mapping bureaus, maritime bure, land and resources bureaus, and universities, with some students continuing to pursue their Ph.D. degrees.
